Larelda A. “Larie” (Land) Phillips, 86, of Warwick passed away on November 27, 2013 at West View Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Edward F. Phillips, whom she married in 1955.
Born in New York City, she was a daughter of the late Richard I. and Evelyn L. (Kuhn) Land. Mrs. Phillips was an educator for the Warwick School System. She was a graduate of Sargent College, now Boston University, in 1952. She was a member of Warwick Central Baptist Church, the Retired Teachers Association of RI, the Warwick Heights Tennis Club for over 40 years and a patron of Matunuck By The Sea Theatre Group.
She was the beloved grandmother of Keri Lynn Miller of Warwick and Erik F. Miller of Cumberland. Loving sister of Richard I. Land of Belmont, Massachusetts. She was the mother of the late Bonnie F. Miller, wife of Timothy L. Miller.
Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 from 4-7 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m. in The Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95). Burial will be private.
