See three spectacular, international films when the 23rd Annual Providence Latin American Film Festival comes to Warwick Public Library October 2 and 3.

On Friday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m., enjoy the Uruguay comedy Seor Kaplan, or Mr. Kaplan (2014). When Jacob Kaplan, a 76-year-old WWII refugee living in Uruguay, hears about the old German owner of a beach cafe, he’s convinced he’s found a Nazi in hiding and an opportunity to be a hero.

On Saturday, Oct. 3 at 3 p.m., see the Spanish crime film La Isla Minima or Marshland (2014). In 1980, two Spanish police detectives with night-and-day values and personalities struggle with each other and the citizens of a rural town as they investigate the disappearance of two teenage sisters in the Guadalquivir Marshes.

Then at 7 p.m. Saturday, watch the Spanish thriller El Cuerpo, or The Body (2012). This is the film that Warwick audiences went crazy for two years ago. Come for a mystery with an ending you’ll never see coming. When the body of a businesswoman and heiress goes missing from a morgue, her cheating younger husband becomes a suspect for both the disappearance and her possible murder.

All films are in Spanish with English subtitles. Sign up online at warwicklibrary.org or call 739-5440 x4. For more information, call 739-5440 x221. The library is located at 600 Sandy Lane.

The Providence Latin American Film Festival runs from October 1-4. Visit www.plaff.org for the complete calendar of events. This event is free and open to all.
