Lead the Way Field Hockey tryouts

Lead the Way Field Hockey U16 and U19 select team tryouts will be held at the end of this month, and local field hockey players are encouraged to attend.

The tryout will be held at the Wheeler Indoor Facility in Seekonk, Mass. on March 31. The U16 tryouts will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., while the U19 tryouts will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. There is also a mandatory parent meeting from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

To tryout for the U19 team, players must be 16 years old or older as of Jan. 1, 2012. For the U16 team, players must have been 15 years old or younger as of Jan. 1.

The cost to try out for either team is $45.

By trying out, field hockey players can compete in a competitive and challenging environment, learn advanced techniques and tactics, travel to regional and national USFHA events and receive education on the college selection process.

Lead the Way was established in 2000 and is now a regionally and nationally recognized team. Currently 80 percent of Lead the Way high school seniors continue to play in college.
