Two international films will be shown during the 22nd Annual Providence Latin American Film Festival at the Warwick Public Library on October 3 and 4.

On Friday at 7 p.m., watch the Venezuelan thriller “Esclavo de Dios,” or “God’s Slave” (2013), starring Mohammed Al Khaldi and Vando Villamil. Ahmed Al Hassama is a successful doctor and loving family man. He is also an undercover Islamic fundamentalist suicide bomber waiting for a call. David Goldberg is a ruthless Israeli Mossad agent tracking down terrorists in Argentina. Can Ahmed give up the family and life he loves, and can David stop him?

On Saturday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m., enjoy the Spanish drama “Tambien la Lluvia,” or “Even the Rain” (2010), starring Gael Garcia Bernal and Luis Tosar. Sebastian, an idealistic Spanish director, and Costa, his producer, travel to Bolivia to make a movie about Christopher Columbus and his brutality toward South America’s native people. When violent demonstrations erupt over the privatization of the water supply, Sebastian and Costa are forced to decide where their principles and loyalties truly lie.

Come to one or both after-hours showings. “God’s Slave” and “Even the Rain” are in Spanish with English subtitles. The Providence Latin American Film Festival runs from Oct. 2-5. Visit www.plaff.org for the complete calendar of events. This event is free and open to all.
