Linda C. (Morrison) Thompson, age 70, of Bridgeton, North Carolina, and formerly of Warwick, died on July 25, 2012 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late John A. and Mary M. (Costello) Morrison, she lived in Warwick before moving to North Carolina in 1979. Ms. Thompson was a mental health facilitator with Port Human Services in New Bern, NC for six years before retiring two years ago. She was previously the co-owner of New Bern Chimney Sweep in Bridgeton, NC for over 20 years.

She is survived by three sisters, Dolores F. Kollett of Warwick, Jean M. Morrison of New Bern, NC, and Gladys A. Mayette of E. Northport, NY; four grandchildren, Tarah L. Silvestri and her husband, Anthony, Amanda McLaughlin, Magan Coute, and Ryan McLaughlin; and three great-grandchildren, P.J., Bella, and Sophie. She was the mother of the late Karen L. McLaughlin and Thomas A. McLaughlin, Jr.; and the sister of the late James R. Morrison.

Funeral services were held on Monday, July 30, in the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich.
