Share the Gift of Literacy! Train To Become a Literacy Tutor and make a difference in someone's life. Literacy Volunteers of Kent County (LVKC) has been serving the Kent County, RI community for over 30 years. This organization is run primarily by volunteers, and has its home office in the Coventry Library.

LVKC trains tutors who help adult learners(16 years+) with Basic Reading and English as a Second Language skills. As a tutor, you will be paired with a student who will be instructed one-to-one, according to your student's individual needs. Lessons are scheduled at your convenience. All information exchanged remains confidential.

By spending just a few hours per week, you can develop a stronger community while enabling your neighbors to improve their literacy skills. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer tutor for LVKC, and you are over 18, please call the LVKC Director, Kimberly Greer, at 401-822-9103. Help others help themselves!
