To the Editor:
As the year 2013 comes to a close, many of us take the time to reflect on the events that have occurred in our lives over the past year and then try to take the necessary steps to improve the areas that require change.
In 2013, we all saw both joy and sorrow with the birth of a new child or grandchild, new home, good job, strong family relations, but we also experienced sorrow with the loss of a family member or friend, diminishing health and family breakups. For the year ahead we should strive to live a responsible life, with insuring family responsibilities take top priority along with employment needs. Recreation and entertainment is a strong means to achieve a more balanced life, but we should also allow time and resources to assist those in need.
Despite the effects of natural disasters and horrific incidents, we should live our lives with purpose and understanding that we all share a common goodness to work together for the benefit of all.
