Louis V. Mead IV, 44 of Squantum Drive died February 4, 2014 at home.

Born in Warwick, he was the son of Sandra L. (Coppa) Garrett of Decatur, Illonois and the late Louis V. Mead, III. He was a self-employed roofing contractor. He loved the beach, fishing with his boys and going to the movies with them. His family is remembering him as an outgoing, big-hearted guy who was the funniest person you ever could meet. He was loved by all who met him and he wassuch a flirt. If Louis was your friend, he was a “true” friend.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his sons, Anthony E. and Zachary J. Mead of Charlton, Massachusetts; and their mother, Dorothy Gonzales, also of Charlton; his sisters: Suzanne Zelano of Cranston and Barbara Mead of Longwood, Florida; several generations of nieces & nephews; and his “Mom & Dad”, LeRoy & Virginia Smith of Warwick.

His funeral service was held on February 9, 2014 from the Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Ave., West Warwick. Calling hours were prior to the service. Burial was private.
