Louise Gallup Kirkman

Louise Gallup Kirkman passed away on June 12, 2014 at the age of 93. She was born April 4, 1921 in Nutley, New Jersey. She was married 66 years to the late Kenneth Donald Kirkman.

She was a daughter of the late Oren Oliver and Grace Lillian (Gardner) Gallup. Louise graduated from Nutley High School in 1939 and the Scudder Business School in New York City in 1941. She worked at Rhode Island Hospital Trust Bank while her husband went to RISD. She became a full time housewife following the birth of her first child. She was very active at her church, Calvary Baptist Church in Providence, where she was a Sunday school teacher for over 20 years and later on she managed the church’s thrift shop for a few years. She has been a resident of Warwick, RI since 1952.

She is survived by her three children - Keith A Kirkman, Kristine K. Perlman, and Kelvin N. Kirkman - all of Houston, Texas; her grandson Justin C. Perlman and his wife, Morgan of Spring, Texas; her sister Elizabeth “Betty” Miller of Fitzwilliam, New Hampshire; nieces and nephews – Kurt Schmidt of Fitzwilliam, New Hampshire, Karla Boyack of Mesa, Colorado, Robert Kirkman of Lincoln, RI, John Kirkman of New York, Rex Kirkman of Warwick, RI, and Amy Sweet of Saranac Lake, NY plus all of their families.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday June 28th at Calvary Baptist Church, 747 Broad Street. Providence, RI. A reception will follow the service.
