Louise M. (Lemek) Pankiewicz

Louise M. (Lemek) Pankiewicz, 91, of Panto Rd., passed away at home on April 9, 2014 surrounded by her loving family and caretakers. She was the wife of the late Louis P. Pankiewicz.

Born in West Warwick, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Sophia (Wystempek) Lemek. Louise graduated from West Warwick High School in 1940 and attended RI School of Design. She was employed for many years as a pantographer for the former Atlantic Engravers in West Warwick. She was a lifelong communicant of Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church in Coventry and was involved with the bazaar and festival preparation activities for many years. She loved to crochet and sew and was known for her crocheted rag rugs and folded star potholders.

She leaves two daughters, Louise Pankiewicz-DiCarlo and her husband, Paul of Coventry and Cynthia A. Pankiewicz of Cranston: and several nieces and nephews. She was a sister of the late Anne Fisher, Edward and Theodore Lemek, Stella Plaziak, Helen Zurowski and Amelia Cournoyer.

Her funeral services were held Monday from the Iannotti Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte.117), Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church, Coventry. Interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich. Visitation was Sunday.
