Macy’s Family Night at “Peter and the Starcatcher” is Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 7 p.m. at the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC). Theatregoers who are age 18 and younger will receive a free ticket of equal value with the purchase of a full-priced ticket for the Feb. 26 performance of “Peter and the Starcatcher”; these tickets are available for selected seating locations only (Golden Circle seating is excluded). Call the Box Office at 421-ARTS (2787) for more information and to order. Ordering online is not an option for the Family Night offer.

Macy’s Family Night at “Peter and the Starcatcher” is sponsored by Macy’s Providence Place with media sponsors ABC 6 and Coast 93.3. “Peter and the Starcatcher” is part of the Contemporary Classics Series, sponsored by Cox Communications.

Craig Robbins, VP Store Manager at Macy’s Providence Place, said, “At Macy’s, we look for unique and rewarding opportunities that will positively impact the communities we serve. Macy’s is so pleased that we can continue the wonderful partnership we have had with PPAC for the past three years. Through this partnership, Rhode Island students who may not have been able to attend a theatrical performance can now be exposed to the world of the performing arts.”

“Peter and the Starcatcher,” the five-time Tony Award winning musical play written by Tony Award nominee Rick Elice and directed by Tony Award winner Roger Rees and Tony Award nominee Alex Timbers, plays at PPAC for a limited engagement from Feb. 25 through March 2.

“Peter and the Starcatcher,” a grown up’s prequel to Peter Pan, is the innovative and imaginative comedy based on the best-selling novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson. A company of a dozen actors play more than a hundred unforgettable characters, all on a journey to answer the century-old question: How did Peter Pan become The Boy Who Never Grew Up? This epic origin story of popular culture’s most enduring and beloved character proves that your imagination is the most captivating place in the world.

“Peter and the Starcatcher” won five 2012 Tony Awards (the most of any play of the 2011-2012 season) and was named one of New York Times, New York Magazine and New Yorker’s Top 10 Shows of the Year.

Regularly-priced tickets for “Peter and the Starcatcher” are $69 to $32; all ticket prices include a $3 per ticket restoration charge and are subject to change without notice. Tickets are available at the PPAC Box Office (located at 220 Weybosset Street in downtown Providence), online at www.ppacri.org and by phone at 421-ARTS (2787). Box Office Hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and through curtain times on performance days. Discounted admission is available for groups of 10 or more; for additional information and to order, contact Group Sales Representative Paul Hiatt at phiatt@ppacri.org or 574-3162.
