‘Makeover’ tree house delivered to new home

The children at Totally Kids Childcare Center received a unique tree house from the homeowner of Warwick’s Extreme Makeover Home edition June 7.

The day-care center on Messer Street in Warwick was delivered the tree house with an artificial tree trunk attached by Bay Crane Northeast, who volunteered to execute the move.

“The moving was way faster than I thought,” said owner Michelle St. Denis in a phone interview. “They told me it would take six hours and it only took them three and a half.”

Billy Murphy, worker of Bay Crane Northeast who operated the crane, said he went to school with homeowner Anya Martira, who donated the tree house to Totally Kids.

“It’s nice to help out somebody in need,” said Murphy.

He said he saw Martira’s post on Facebook searching for crane assistance, and he and his co-workers set aside time where they could help make the move.

The workers had to disassemble the tree house into four pieces for delivery. Murphy said that Totally Kids purchased a concrete pad for the tree house and had everything set up for them when they arrived.

Although the tree house is situated on the property, it still isn’t ready to be played on. St. Denis said the structure must be tested before kids can try it out. St. Denis also said the tree house needs some sprucing up. The stairs have yet to be put on, but she said depending on the weather she hopes it will be ready by the end of the week for the kids.

St. Denis said that this is the biggest donation the day-care has ever had.

“I’m really grateful for Anya’s and Bay Crane Northeast’s generosity,” said St. Denis.

The children at Totally Kids are very excited to try the new addition to the day-care, said St. Denis.
