Making strides
Warwick Beacon photo

In the week since ground was broken, construction on The Station Nightclub Fire Memorial on Veterans Memorial Drive in Apponaug has progressed significantly. Forms for the stairs were put in place Tuesday and by yesterday Ryan Hebert and Tom Hazard of Tom Hazard LLC, seen at left, were doing the finish work. The memorial remembers the 10 Warwick residents who died 10 years ago this Feb. 20. It will also include the names of all 100 victims. Jody King, whose brother Tracey was one of those victims, started the foundation that has raised more than $20,000 in cash and in-kind donations to build the memorial. It is to be dedicated Oct. 20.
