The weather report predicts that temperatures will barely reach 20 degrees this week, and it looks as though we are in for continued frigid wintery weather for weeks to come. One of the worst casualties of these biting cold temperatures is frozen pipes, and all the inherent flooding problems that come when they burst. Just ask Master Plumber Mike Manning of Manning Plumbing. He has seen the fallout from such burst pipes one time too many, and has some words of advice for his customers.

First and foremost, Manning urges homeowners to keep an eye on poorly heated water pipe areas, especially where they back up against an outside wall or are in a place such as a garage washroom that only gets used in warmer weather. He advises clients to turn off the water at the shut-off valve where it is not needed or where it is exposed to these extreme cold temperatures ~ this includes outside water spigots which can be turned off from the inside of your home. Furthermore, if your heating system should go down for any reason, be sure to open your faucets to a slow drip. This will guard against freezing until help arrives. Manning even suggests insulating your pipes with inexpensive foam insulation (available at most hardware stores) as another preventative measure. Finally, keep the number of Manning Plumbing in your speed dial. Mike Manning is ready for your call.

Master Plumber Mike Manning has been involved with all facets of household plumbing since his high school days. Along with servicing many, many homes in Kent County, his professional experiences have ranged from working with a union team at T.F. Green to working on the Raytheon expansion.

In addition to trouble-shooting your plumbing emergencies, Manning offers a wide range of plumbing services including the installation, maintenance and repairs of appliances such as hot water heaters, water filtration systems, kitchen appliances and all bathroom fixtures. He also provides kitchen and bath remodeling services, water heater replacements and appliance installations at affordable prices with discounts available.

As a token of gratitude, Manning Plumbing always offers a 10% discount to all veterans and seniors. Manning is also keenly aware of the expenses incurred when customers take time out of work to meet with a plumber, so he has lowered both his weekend and after hour dispatch fees to only $29.

One of the other outstanding services Manning provides is his "Manning FYI", a free & no obligation basement "walk through" where he can assess any plumbing concerns or worrisome hot spots. This is just one of the ways Mike extends his appreciation to his many loyal and potential customers.
