Margaret E. (Valentine) Anctil, age 87, of Knotty Oak Road, Coventry, died on May 6, 2013 at Kent County Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Albert O. Anctil. Mr. and Mrs. Anctil celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on April 3rd.

Born in England, a daughter of the late James and Margaret (Gillett) Valentine, she moved to Coventry in 1948. Mrs. Anctil was employed in the credit department of Sears, Roebuck and Co. in West Warwick and Warwick for 20 years, retiring in 1988. During World War II, she was employed in the Food Office of the British Government doing food rationing.

Besides her husband; she is survived by two daughters, Barbara M. Perra and her husband, Bruce of Warwick, and Bernadette M. Bruneau and her husband, Paul of West Greenwich, two sons, Michael P. Anctil and his wife, Darlene of East Providence, and Charles P. Anctil and his wife, Deborah of West Warwick; a sister, Eleanor Heyworth in England; ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Henry, John, Joseph, and James Valentine, and Agnes Snape.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, May 10, at 9 a.m. from the Potvin & Cotter Funeral Home, 45 Curson Street, West Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church, 445 Washington Street, Coventry. Visiting hours are Thursday 4-7 p.m. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans’ Cemetery, Exeter.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association.
