Marie C. Izzi, age 93, of Valerie Drive, West Greenwich, died on June 7, 2013 at the Coventry Center Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation.
Born in Warwick, a daughter of the late Albert N. and Marie C. (Lombardi) Izzi, she lived in Warwick in her early life, and later resided in West Warwick, Cranston, and West Greenwich. Miss Izzi was a hairdresser, and for many years owned and operated the former Astor Beauty Salons in Warwick and East Greenwich. She had also worked as a bookkeeper, and in retirement served for many years as a volunteer nurses’ aide. She was known for her abilities as a baker and a homemaker.
Marie is survived by a brother, Albert N. Izzi and his wife, Etta G. Izzi, of West Greenwich; a niece, Jennifer F. Izzi of Warwick, and a nephew, Brian A. Conti of West Warwick. She was the sister of the late William O. Izzi and Eva S. Conti.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, June 14, at 8:15 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, 854 Providence Street, West Warwick. Visiting hours are Thursday 4-7 p.m. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, West Warwick.
