Marie George named director of clinical informatics

Marie A. George, RN, MSN, has been named director of clinical informatics at Home Care & Hospice of New England, the parent company of Visiting Nurse Home Care and Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island. In her new role, George will be responsible for the implementation, integration, adoption, use and ongoing evolution of the clinical information systems for Visiting Nurse Home Care and Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island.

Gouveia, CPA, president and CEO of Visiting Nurse Home Care and executive vice president of Home Care & Hospice of New England. “Marie’s clinical background, coupled with her extensive experience in patient care and informatics, means she can provide leadership, ensuring we have clinical support as we implement change to benefit patients. This is an exciting time to be at the cutting edge of delivering informatics to improve patient care.”

Prior to joining HCHNE, George worked for Lifespan, where she was manager of nursing informatics at Rhode Island Hospital and Hasbro Children’s and senior applications analyst for Lifespan Corporate Services. In addition, she held a number of clinical and technical positions, including IS applications analyst at Care New England and Director of Professional Services and Healthcare Automation, LLC. George holds a BS from Rhode Island College and an MS in nursing informatics from Duke University.

Home Care & Hospice of New England (HCHNE), the first-of-its-kind network of home care, hospice and palliative care providers in the region, provides outstanding patient care across the home care and hospice continuum.
