Marion Betty (Bessette) Marshall, age 84, formerly of North Country Club Drive, Warwick, died on May 3, 2013 at Kent County Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Anthony A. Marshall, Jr.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Rene and Mary (Ryan) Bessette, she lived in Warwick for 60 years. She was a graduate of the Rhode Island College of Education. Mrs. Marshall was an educator in the Warwick Public Schools for 30 years, retiring from Wyman Elementary School in 1988. She had a strong interest in theater and the arts.
She is survived by a daughter, Kim M. Gilbert of Lincoln, two sons, Paul Marshall and his wife, Kathy of Warwick, and Peter Marshall and his wife, Nancy of Maynard, Massachusetts; a sister, Barbara DiPaola of Warwick; four grandchildren, Kate, Sarah, Jared and Elizabeth; and many friends. She was the sister of the late Rene Bessette and Beatrice Egan.
Her funeral service will be held on Monday, May 13, at 10 a.m. in the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, May 12, from 3-6 p.m. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans’ Cemetery, Exeter.
