Mary E. (Cooney) Trudeau Rogers, 90, formerly of Warwick Avenue, Warwick, died October 19, 2011 at Trinity Health & Rehabilitation Center, Woonsocket. She was the wife of the late Kenneth B. Rogers.
Born in the Lakewood section of Warwick, the daughter of the late Marion J. and Mary C. (Dunn) Cooney, she was a lifelong Warwick resident. Mrs. Rogers was employed at the Warwick Shoppers World/Zayre store on Warwick Avenue for 15 years, retiring in 1978. She later worked at Jay Printing Co. in Warwick for seven years.
She was a past president of the Robert T. Johnson Post #183 VFW Auxiliary and the Henry F. Muenzel Post #52 American Legion Auxiliary. She was a member of the Meadowbrook Tenants Association, the Retired Senior Volunteer Program and was a volunteer for Meals-on-Wheels.
She is survived by four sons, William J. Trudeau of Port Charlotte, Fla., Kenneth B. Rogers Jr. of Portland, Maine, Kevin M. Rogers of Palmetto, Fla. and Paul C. Rogers of Coventry; a daughter, Karen E. Dussault of Woonsocket; a brother, Charles A. Cooney of Warwick; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Her funeral was held Oct. 24 from Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Ave., Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Lane, Warwick. Burial was in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
