Mary J. (Forde) Masseur, age 83, of Lindy Avenue, Warwick, died unexpectedly September 16, 2012 at Kent County Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Anthony F. Masseur, Sr.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late William T. Forde, Sr. and Josephine C. (Golden) Forde, she lived in Warwick since 1952. Mrs. Masseur was employed at Precision Business Forms in Cranston for 30 years, retiring as office manager in 1997. She was a founding member of St. Kevin Parish in Warwick, and was a member of St. Kevin’s Women’s Club.
Besides her husband; she is survived by two daughters, Kathleen M. Masseur Tougas and her husband, Col. Gary Tougas of Warwick, and Ann Marie Masseur Crooker and her husband, Peter Crooker of North Kingstown, two sons, Anthony F. Masseur, Jr. and his wife, D’Ann of Coventry, and Paul J. Masseur and his wife, Courtney of Warwick; a sister, Catherine E. Hindle of Cranston; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late William T. Forde, Jr. and John J. Forde.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, September 21, at 9 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Lane, Warwick. Visiting hours are Thursday 4-8 p.m. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans’ Cemetery, Exeter.
