Mary M. (Aitken) Champoux, age 76, of Foxcroft Avenue, Warwick, died on October 10, 2013 at Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence. She was the beloved wife of Henry R. Champoux for 56 years.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Mary (Colvin) Aitken, she lived in Warwick since 1960. Mary was the office manager for the former Champ’s Electric for over 25 years. She was later employed at Rite Aid in Warwick and Office Max in Cranston. A long-time member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, she sang in the choir and was actively involved in many other areas of the church. Over the years, Mary and her husband have been members of many choral groups, most recently the Pawtuxet Valley Community Chorus, as well as former team leaders for Marriage Encounter.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters: Jeanne M. Soares and her husband, Thomas J. of Warwick, and Patricia Sims and her husband, Stephen of Noblesville, Indiana; her sister, Jean P. McAnaugh of Coventry; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, October 18, at 9:00 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a service at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark’s Church, 111 West Shore Road, Warwick. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to St. Mark’s Church Building Fund.
