Mary V. Tweedy, 93, passed away at her daughter’s house in Falmouth, Massachusetts on March 12, 2013 with loving family by her side. She was the wife of 75 years to the late Robert R. Tweedy.
Born in Farmington, Minnesota, she was the daughter of the late Godfrey and Marion (Thomas) Peterson.
Mary worked and retired with Gorham Manufacturing; she was a proud member of VASA, Star Lodge # 56 for 60 years and was very active with Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Warwick. She was loved by all whose life she touched and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by two children: William T. Tweed of West Yarmouth, Mass. and his wife, Aurelia and Judith S. Martin of Falmouth, Mass. and her husband, John; three grandchildren: Neil J. Mulcahy, Keith P. Mulcahy, and Tammy-Jean Delaney; nine great-grandchildren: Crystal, Keith Jr., Tricia, Bobby, Cayla, Morgan, Jillian, Tori and Elaina; four great-great grandchildren: Blake, Sophia, Jiana and Mina; a brother: Robert W. Peterson of Aptsos, California and his wife, Carol, and two sister-in-laws, Dorothy Fournier and Dorothy Peterson; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five siblings: Thomas, Clifford, Donald Peterson, Jean Hix and Elaine Peterson.
A funeral service will be held at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 1817 Warwick Avenue, Warwick, RI on Monday, March 18, 2013 at 1 p.m. with calling hours from 11-1 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Pawtuxet Memorial Park in Warwick.
