The 11th annual Walk With Me for Easter Seals RI was an afternoon to remember, not only for Easter Seals but all the participants and sponsors, too. More than 300 supporters attended the walk on Saturday, May 18 and raised $50,000 for children and young adults who receive services from Easter Seals RI.
Local and national businesses sponsored the walk, including CVS Caremark, Century 21 Access America, Mass Mutual, AC Moore, Cabot Creamery, Coast 93.3 FM, Dunkin’ Donuts, Kellogg’s, Lawrence and Associates, Pawtucket Red Sox, Pepsi, Panera Bread and Catering, Raymour & Flanigan, Southern RI Newspapers, Staples, Subway, and Willow Tree Poultry Farm.
Participants enjoyed the carnival-themed walk at Goddard Memorial State Park, complete with Tony the Tiger and Paws from the Pawtucket Red Sox, entertainment by Kenny Kool Light and Sound and give-a-ways from vendors.
Over 30 teams registered for the Walk.
“The support we receive from participants, businesses and our sponsors is a vital part to the success of the programs offered at Easter Seals RI,” said Judy Fortier, director of development. “It is incredible to see the level of support in this community for children with disabilities and special needs. Thank you to everyone who participated in this event.”
