Young Democrats from across the state are invited to join Representative Joseph McNamara, Chair if the Rhode Island Democratic Party, and other Democratic elected officials for a Meet and Greet next Monday night.
Speakers will address how the young men and women can become involved with the state politically and some of the opportunities available to them through campaigns or internships with the party.
Ann Gooding, Communications Director for the party said, the event hopes to encourage political and governmental interest and engagement from Rhode Island’s next generation of Democrats.
“They can be candidates themselves or be involved in research and speech writing or field work from a local to national level,” Gooding said.
Attorney General Peter Kilmartin, McNamara as well as other local and state officials will be the speakers for the night to reach out before the 2016 election season.
The Meet and Greet will be Monday, June 22nd, at the Vanity Supper Club, 566 South Main Street, Providence starting at 5:30.
The event is free and open to the young Democratic voters of the state. Space is limited and hopeful participants are asked to pre-register by Friday, June 19th with Annie Pease, Field Director for the Rhode Island Democratic Party at, appease@ridemocrats.org.
