Melvin C. Hart Sr.

Melvin C. Hart Sr., 94, died March 7, 2012. He was the husband of the late Ellen E. (MacDonald) Hart.
Born in North Kingstown, he was a son of the late Clarence and Lillian (Alsfeld) Hart. Mr. Hart resided in Warwick for over 40 years and was the owner of Hart Radio and TV Repair. He later moved to Brattleboro, Vt., where he managed a Dunkin Donuts for several years. Relocating to Danielson, Conn., he opened the Donut Kettle Restaurant, which he operated until his retirement. After he retired he moved to Foster, where he lived for 37 years.
He was the father of Melvin C. Hart Jr., Thomas W. Hart, Robert L. Hart and the late Bette-Ann Maguire and brother of Nellie Crean and the late Raymond Hart, William Hart, Webster Hart, Kenneth Hart, Edith Pendergast, Gladys Young and Ruth Schoeninger. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held March 9 at 11 a.m. in Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave. Burial was in Pawtuxet Memorial Park. For information and condolences visit www.thequinnfuneralhome.com.
