Meredith J. “Merry” (Lord) Fielder

Meredith J. “Merry” (Lord) Fielder, age 70, formerly of Buena Vista Avenue, Warwick, died on July 6, 2013 at Kent County Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Donald L. “Les” Fielder.

Born in Providence, the daughter of the late James Lord and Gladys H. (Uttley) Lord French, and the adopted daughter of the late John W. French, Sr., she lived in Warwick for most of her life. Mrs. Fielder was employed as a legal secretary at Higgins, Cavanagh, & Cooney, Attorneys in Providence until her retirement. She was previously employed as a secretary at Woodbury Union Church, Presbyterian, and at GMAC Finance. She was a member of Woodbury Union Church in Warwick.

She is survived by a brother, John W. “Jack” French, Jr. and his wife, Lisa M. French, of Cranston; and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Lori J. Fielder.

Her funeral service will be held on Friday, July 12, at 11 a.m. in the Woodbury Union Church, Presbyterian, 58 Beach Avenue, Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. in the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick. Burial will be in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick.
