There will be a free concert of Handel's "Messiah" at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 9 New London Ave., West Warwick, Dec. 15 at 3 p.m. The church has handicapped parking and accessibility. A free will offering will be accepted at the concert. The concert will include Part I - The Christmas Story and the Hallelujah Chorus and will feature four prominent Rhode Island soloists with a 40-voice choir. The vocalists for this choral masterpiece will be accompanied by a professional string quartet and harpsichord. Handel's "Messiah" is arguably the most popular and frequently performed choral work since its first performance for charity in Dublin, Ireland in 1742. Celebrate the Christmas season with a concert of this traditional, choral masterpiece.
