Michael P. "Mike" Hickey, Jr., age 76, of Warwick, died peacefully at home on April 11, 2013, surrounded by his family. He was the loving and devoted husband of Diane C. (Morrissette) Hickey for 56 years.

Born in Fall River, Massachuesetts, a son of the late Michael P. Hickey, Sr., and Anne (Fitzgerald) Hickey, he was a Warwick resident for 52 years. A graduate of Diman Vocational High School, he also attended Northeastern College. Mr. Hickey was the former Vice-President of Walco Electric; Founder, President and Treasurer of the former Consolidated Electric Co., Providence; and for the past 20 years self-employed as M.P. Hickey Electrical Consultant. He was a long-term Executive Secretary/Treasurer of the Electrical League of Rhode Island, Eastern Governor of the International League of Electrical Associations, and Executive Board Member of the Roger Williams Chapter International Association of Electrical Inspectors. He was an active member of St. Benedict Church in Warwick.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children: Michael P. (Jeanne) Hickey, III of Stoughton, Massachuesetts, Kathleen E. (Timothy) Zerrip of Foxboro, Mass., Mark W. (Lisa) Hickey, of Wrentham, Mass. and Colleen A. (James) Strobino of Scituate, Mass; and a brother, Brian K. (Barbara) Hickey of Westport, Mass. He was the proud and devoted grandfather of Ryan, Colin and Kiean Hickey, Christopher Zerrip, Ian and Phoebe Strobino, and Michael, Ellen and Timothy O’Regan. He was the brother of the late Joseph and Timothy Hickey.

His funeral was held on Monday, April 15, from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Benedict Church, 135 Beach Avenue, Warwick. Burial was in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Miriam Hospital Oncology, c/o P.O. Box H, Providence, RI 02901.
