Michael S, Grant, 71, passed away Monday, July 13, at Sunnyview Nursing Home. He was the beloved husband of Joyce C. (Wylie) Grant for 50 years.
He was a son of the late George U. and Marie R. (Santos) Grant. Mike was employed as a robotic machinist for Portola Tech before retiring. He had been employed as a machinist for most of his life. He was a former member of the Army Reserve, served on the Board of Directors for the Tuna Tournament, and was former president of Bay Tackle Anglers and a long time active member of the Wallum Lake Rod and Gun Club. Mike was very well known in the classic car circuit throughout New England.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Michael S. Grant and his wife, Vanessa Lynn, of Warwick; three sisters: Barbara Wade of Mississippi, Jacqueline Cannavo and Geraldine Wildman, both of West Warwick; two grandsons, Joshua Michael and Justin Michael Grant.
His funeral service will be held Friday, July 17 at 10 a.m. in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave. Burial will be in Pawtuxet Memorial Park. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 p.m.
