Doris and Donald Hawes of Warwick Ave., Warwick, announces the engagement of her daughter, Michelle Hawes, to Jacob Messier, son of Gene and Melanie Messier of Naughton Ave., Warwick. The bride-to-be is a graduate of Warwick Veteran Memorial High School Educational Resource Group.

The groom-to-be is a graduate of Toll Gate High School and Electrical Trade School. He is employed by Kent County Electrical Services.

The couple are planning a May 12, 2012 wedding.
