Mildred (Armstrong) Hoopes

Mildred (Armstrong) Hoopes, age 94, a resident of Greenwich Farms, 75 Minnesota Avenue, Warwick, died on December 22, 2013, at Kent County Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Huron R. Hoopes.

Born in Burlington, Kansas, the daughter of the late Clarance and Gladys A. (Hummel) Armstrong, she lived in Warwick since September 2011. She was previously a resident of Flossmoor and Olympia Fields, Illinois. Mrs. Hoopes was a secretary/bookkeeper in the Slater, Missouri Public Schools for over 15 years.

She is survived by a daughter, Gayle H. Sangster and her husband, Robert D. Sangster of Warwick; a brother, C. Eldon Armstrong of Branch, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Robert D. Sangster, Jr., Lisa N. Sangster, W. Gordon Sangster, and Paul B. Sangster; nine great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Melvin Armstrong.

A memorial service was held on December 28 in Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 1817 Warwick Avenue, Warwick. Burial was in Slater City Cemetery in Slater, Missouri. www.barrettandcotter.com
