On May 10, from 4 to 9 p.m., an event celebrating “Military Spouse Appreciation Night” will be held in East Greenwich. The night aims to recognize and celebrate the wives and husbands of U.S. troops. The event itself, described as “a stroll on Main,” begins at 4 at the Varnum Armory on 6 Main Street. During the event, merchants and businesses on Main Street and beyond will offer discounts and giveaways for participating military spouses.
Thus far, more than 20 merchants and businesses have announced participation in the event, including Steve Fillipou’s Twisted Pizza, Main Street Coffee and Weichert Realtors.
Activities will also be provided for children between the ages of 6-12. Pre-registration is required by May 8 for both spouses and children.
The stroll is co-sponsored by both the East Greenwich Chamber of Commerce and The Greenwich Givers, with support from Cox Communications and BankNewport.
