Milton J. Wrath

Milton J. Wrath, 84, died Friday morning. He was the husband of Karleen (Holm) Wrath.

Born in Providence and a Warwick resident for over 60 years, he was the son of the late William & Ellen (Perkins) Wrath. Milton was a production scheduler for Rau Fastener for 43 years. Pawtuxet Village was a big Part of Milton’s life. Known as “Mr.Gaspee”, he was a past president of The Pawtuxet Athletic Club and a Bartender there for many years. He was a Major in the Pawtuxet Rangers RIM and closest to his heart was the Gaspee Day Committee. He was a past president; chair of several of their parades and for a number of years carried the R.I. Mace and led the Gaspee Parade. He was also awarded the Abraham Whipple award by the committee. He was a direct decedent of James Chilton who came over on the Mayflower.

Besides his wife he leaves four daughters: Jeannette Alt (Miles) of Johnston, Barbara Sylvia (Richard) of West Warwick, Nancy Duquette (Edward) of Warwick and Susan Wrath of South Kingstown; and his extended family: Scott Bailey of Pawtucket and Chris McNamara (Ray) of Coventry; ten grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Robert Wrath.

The funeral will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Trinity Church, Ocean Ave., Pawtuxet. Burial will follow in Pawtuxet Memorial Park. Calling hours Tuesday 5-8 p.m. in the Monahan Drabble Sherman Funeral Home, 230 Waterman St., Providence.
