(Breathtaking spy adventure)

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to suspend all disbelief and enjoy the ultimate "Mission Impossible."

Tom Cruise is back as Ethan Hunt, the indestructible MIF leader who saves the world from nuclear destruction ... at the last second, of course.

The action starts before the opening credits as Hunt breaks out of a Moscow prison, infiltrates the Kremlin, and leads his team on a dangerous and exciting mission that takes them from Moscow to Prague to Dubai, India and back home. They are always on the offensive and defensive as Hunt makes up the rules as he goes along, always deviating from the "plan,” as they search for the codes that will lead to a disastrous nuclear war.

We remember the old TV series, with its gimmicks and narrow escapes. Multiply that by a hundred and you have the latest "Mission," which is truly impossible.

We won't spoil it by revealing the death-defying stunts, but we will tell you that Hunt climbing up the tallest building in the world in Dubai is like nothing you have ever seen before. The incredible special effects and photography will take your breath away.

The IMF "disavows" the team when they are blamed for blowing up the Kremlin, and they continue their mission, knowing that if they are caught it is curtains for all four of them. Hunt's team is terrific, from Paula Patton's vengeful Jane, who wants to kill the assassin who murdered her boyfriend, to Benji (Simon Pegg), who adds a lot of humor to the movie, to Brandt (Jeremy Renner), who adds much to the team in spite of the baggage he carries around.

There are so many surprises and twists and turns, leaving you exhausted after two and a quarter hours. There is another sequel planned, and we can't imagine how they can top this one.

Rated PG-13 with violence.
