TRAINING TRAINERS: Bethany Mascena Tracy puts finishing touches to the RYSE display. Mascena Tracy and her business partner Tara Comer, both of Warwick, manage the company that coaches women in combining the benefits of yoga and running. Since starting last February, the company has established a network of 30 coaches from Maine to New Jersey. Mascena Tracy said doing yoga before running helps stretch the body resulting in more efficient and faster running.

OF MIND, BODY AND SPIRIT: Diana Lozowski and her sister, Deborah Hutton, set up the Zen by Alexa Rae booth at Saturday’s event at the Crowne Plaza. Diana’s daughter, Alexa Rae, who is pictured on the poster, founded the Johnston company that produced a charm especially for the event featuring the outline of a Buddhist head and temple to symbolize the coming together of mind, body and spirit. The company works closely with non-profits in developing jewelry that will assist them in fundraising campaigns.

Pat Paolino-Cruz was the sparkplug behind the first Mind-Body-Spirit Experience held on Small Business Saturday at the Crowne Plaza. Cruz founded the event to bring together 90 vendors ranging from food and health companies to therapists and providers of beauty supplies. The day also featured presentations ranging from how to quit smoking, overcoming grief to transitions in the workplace and finding health through movement. Apart from affording some holiday shopping, the goals of the experience were to relax the mind, restore the body and renew the spirit. (Warwick Beacon photos)
