On Friday, Warwick police responded to the Mobil Gas station at 15 Jefferson Blvd. around 2:18 a.m. for a report of a man who had just been “pistol whipped.” The victim, who was not an employee of the gas station, said that this was the latest in a series of events and altercations that occurred between him and the suspects that took place in the cities of Providence, Warwick and Boston.

Warwick Police Major Raymond Gallucci said they were acquainted with the two suspects who were in the area promoting a newly released rap album.

A second victim advised the officers that the same suspects assaulted him in a room at Motel 6 on Jefferson Boulevard and then posted the assault on YouTube.

“They just told us they had altercations with them [the suspects],” said Gallucci. “They didn’t give us any details.”

Based on the reported use of a firearm, the Warwick SWAT Team was activated and conducted a room entry. They took out three individuals and arrested two of them.

Jacorey Dejuan Bryant, 22, of Atlanta, Ga., was charged with two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon; possession of narcotics with intent to deliver; robbery; carrying a pistol without a permit; malicious damage and disorderly conduct.

The second suspect, Ira Rophiel Malcom Jr., 23, of Lithonia, Ga., was charged with robbery. Both individuals are currently held at Warwick Police Department Headquarters.

The two men were said to be with a record label, SODMG, which is owned and operated by rapper and artist Soulja Boy.
