Harpist Grace Clouthier, who has performed in Carnegie Hall and throughout this country and internationally, gave a concert Sept. 7 at the Jamestown home of Gale and Gerry Bay for the benefit of Bridgemark, the Warwick-based addiction recovery agency with facilitates in Elmwood Avenue. More than 170 attended the afternoon event that included a tour of the bay’s home and their collection of antique mechanical musical instruments from the early beginnings of Swiss music boxes to the more complex player pianos, violins and banjos including fairground organs and a three-house carousel. Clouthier regularly gives workshops for the young and is the recipient of the Gluck Fellowship from the Juilliard School for her work with AIDS victims, the elderly and children in the New York metro area. In shots here, former Warwick teacher and president of the American Federation of Teachers, Edward McElroy talks with retired Warwick music teacher Marcia Beagan. Benchmark executive director Christine Harkins introduces the program and Clouthier performs. (Warwick Beacon photos)
