Barnes & Noble, the leading retailer of content, digital media and educational products, is sponsoring the 2013 “My Favorite Teacher” Contest. This program provides middle school and high school students with an opportunity to tell their communities how much they appreciate their teachers. Awards include cash prizes for the teacher and their school, NOOK™ Tablet and more. The contest will be broken down into local and regional winners, from which the Barnes & Noble National Teacher of the Year will be chosen. Students can nominate a teacher by writing an essay, poem, or thank-you letter explaining how a teacher has influenced their life and why they appreciate and admire them. Students submit their nomination along with their entry form to Katie Rendine, Community Relations Manager at Barnes & Noble 1350B Bald Hill Rd. Warwick, RI 02886. Entries will be judged on the compelling nature of the teacher’s qualities, the sincerity of the student’s appreciation and the quality of expression and writing. All entries need to be submitted by March 1, 2013. Only students in middle school and high school and active teachers employed in middle school and high school in the United States are eligible to win. Entry forms are available at the Warwick Barnes & Noble store or call 401-826-4261 to have forms sent to you. Entry forms can also be downloaded and additional information can be found at www.bn.com/myfavoriteteacher.
