Myrtle T. (Rich) Knutton, RN, lovingly known as “Bud,” daughter of the late Tracy H. and Sylvia M. Rich and wife of the late Howard T. Knutton, formerly of Warwick, died March 22, 2012 at Riverview Health Care, Coventry. Mr. and Mrs. Knutton were married on June 26, 1943.

Born in Cranston on Feb. 16, 1921, she was a graduate of Homeopathic Hospital (now known as Roger Williams Medical Center), having affiliations with Butler and Yale, New Haven, Class of 1942. She worked in various hospitals and nursing homes throughout Rhode Island, the last portion being charge nurse at Avalon Nursing Home of Warwick for 13 years before her retirement.

Myrtle was a member of Warwick Central Baptist Church since 1955 and a loyal supporter of various U.S. veterans organizations, as well as the Humane Society. She was a member of the Alumnae Association of Roger Williams Hospital School of Nursing.

She is survived by her son, Charles T. Knutton and his wife Cheryl, her daughter, Kathy S. Mancosh and her husband Doug, and her daughter-in-law, Linda Knutton. She was the mother of the late Tracy H. Knutton. She was the grandmother of seven and great-grandmother of six.

Her funeral service will be held March 27 at 6:30 p.m. in Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Ave., Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited and may call March 27 from 4-6 p.m. prior the service. Burial will be private.
