Nancy G. (MacLean) Johnson, 80, a former Warwick school teacher and co-owner of The School Master’s Wife Antiques, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2012. She was the beloved wife of Carl R. Johnson.
She was a daughter of the late James R. and Eda (Bowman) MacLean. Mrs. Johnson was a past officer of the Sacred Octagon MG Car Club, and the Southeastern New England Antique Dealers Association. She continued her love of teaching through out her life through Adult Education classes in Warwick, the Volunteers of Warwick Schools, and as a Campfire Girl Troop Leader. She was a talented artist who continued to hone her skills as a student at Handi-Craft, where she learned the art of restorative, as well as other forms of painting. Her talents extended beyond painting to furniture refinishing, sewing, gardening, and quilting. Nancy also had a great love of Golden Retrievers.
She was the loving mother of Carl R. Johnson III, Mark M. Johnson, and Kristen C. Sellitto and her husband, Michael. Devoted grandmother of Timothy, Peter, James and the late Carl R. Johnson IV. Sister of Patricia Lambert and Shirley Brown and the late James MacLean.
Visiting hours for Mrs. Johnson will be held Wednesday 4-7 p.m. with a memorial service at 7 p.m. in the Thomas & Walter Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Avenue, Warwick.
