Nancy V. (Saunders) Feifert

Nancy V. (Saunders) Feifert, age 80, of Warwick, passed away on January 9. She was the beloved wife of 55 years of Alvin H. Feifert.

Raised in Rumford, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Viola Saunders. She loved working with her parents at their restaurant, Saunders on the Ten Mile. Nancy graduated from East Providence High School, Class of 1953, and the University of Rhode Island, Class of 1957. She received a Masters in Education from Rhode Island College and worked as a teacher. Later, she worked as a property manager for several residential and elderly housing properties, retiring in 2000.

Nancy was a member of the Little Rhody Rembrandts, a decorative painters group and enjoyed a lifetime of painting, drawing, creating floral arrangements, knitting and sewing. Nancy saw the beauty in everything in nature, loved the beach and could be inspired by a sprig of winterberry or a fresh bloom of a rose in her backyard. Most of all Nancy was a kind and loving person who took pleasure in helping others and her grandchildren.

She is also survived by her daughter Kristen Feifert Clark of Sutton, MA, and her husband, Dr. Brian Clark, her daughter Kerri L. Panos of Lakeville, MA, and her husband, the Hon. Christopher J. Panos; sister-in-law Valerie Saunders of Portsmouth, RI; and her six devoted grandchildren: Taylor, Kaelen, Madison and MacKenzie Clark and Brogan and Lili Panos. She was predeceased her brother Albert D. Saunders, Esq.

Her funeral service will held on Saturday, January 16, at 9 a.m. at the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited and may visit at the funeral home on Saturday from 8-9 a.m. Burial will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
