Cullen Andrew Aubin, son of Donna and Stephen Aubin, received his Eagle Badge, the highest award in Boy Scouting, at a Court of Honor held Sunday at the Varnum Armory in East Greenwich. A junior at Hendricken High, Cullen is a member of Troop 2, East Greenwich. His Eagle service project was a Red Cross-sponsored Blood Drive/Car Wash held last May. It was one of the Red Cross’ most successful blood drives. Cullen’s goal was 30 points; however he exceeded his goal and in a five-hour period collected 35 points of blood. In February 2012, Cullen was chosen as one of eight scouts to travel to the Dominican Republic on an emersion trip with the Boy Scouts of America. The trip was a 15-day adventure. He stayed with host families, speaking only Spanish and enjoying all the aspects of the Dominican culture. At Hendricken, he is a member of the Brother Edmund Rice Chapter of the National Honor Society, and an active member of the track and field team where he presently throws the hammer. Pinning Cullen at Sunday’s ceremony is Troop 2 Scoutmaster James Essex.
