The Sargent Rehabilitation Center on Quaker Lane celebrated the opening of its recently completed 3,000-square-foot regional resource center Thursday with a reception and ribbon cutting ceremony. The $1.7 million center featuring the latest in communication technology is designed to be energy efficient while providing a welcome environment. Heating and cooling is provided by six 450-foot deep geo-thermal wells. All lighting is LED. But more than all technical amenities of the new center, staff and board members are excited by the opportunities the center offers in fulfilling its mission to provide training for families and professionals to help adults and children with disabilities. The center has a capacity for 150.
