If you plan on going out to eat in October, you can have a great meal and help local kids by visiting Ninety Nine Restaurants in Cranston and Westerly who will be brewing up fun activities all month to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Warwick.

Among the treats at both locations are raffles and special menu items. For only a $10 donation, patrons at the Cranston Ninety Nine Restaurant can purchase pumpkins colorfully decorated by Club members. Along with the pumpkin, supporters get a Boys & Girls Club bracelet and a raffle ticket that could win them a 50-inch flat screen TV, a Tailgate package featuring a portable smoker, and 12 $30 gift cards good at any Ninety Nine Restaurant.

On Oct. 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. the Cranston location will present its popular Celebrity Bartender Night, this time featuring the Constantine family of Warwick. Parents Janice and Mike will try to earn more tips/donations than daughter Carra Beth and son Jonathan. Guests vote for their favorites by putting tips in their jars. Bartenders with the least amount will receive a pie in the face.

Last year’s contestants raised more than $3,000 in votes. Also expected to be a big hit at Ninety Nine in Cranston is a new Wing Night Contest in which local firefighters will try to out eat local police. The contest begins at 6 p.m. on Oct. 22; and the losing team better like pie! October 20 and 22 also feature Dining for a Cause. Present a voucher (downloadable at www.wbgclubs.org) and 15 percent of your bill (excluding tax and gratuity) will go to help Club kids.

Demonstrating their motto “A Passion to Serve” the community, Ninety Nine Restaurant and Pubs throughout the region are paired with their local Boys & Girls Club to raise awareness and important financial support to help clubs carry out their mission to enable youth to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens. On the local level, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Warwick provide quality after school programming that includes access to computers, homework help, fine arts, leadership development, cooking classes, fitness activities and more.

For over a decade, the Ninety Nine Restaurants has shown its commitment to the Boys & Girls Clubs through a number of initiatives. Each Ninety Nine Restaurant has a relationship with its local Boys & Girls Club and donates food, funds and/or team members’ time to help its local chapter.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Warwick have been an integral part of Kent County for more than 40 years. Its two branches, located in the Norwood and Oakland Beach neighborhoods, provide services to more than 1,300 boys and girls, ages 5-18, in the key areas of character and leadership development, education and career development, health and life skills, the arts, and sports, fitness and recreation.
