Warwick Police are about to close the books on a stabbing that occurred on Betsy Williams Drive around 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
Det. Capt. Robert Nelson said they know who got stabbed, who did the stabbing and why, but cannot make an arrest because the victim and the accused are not—and apparently do not intend to—cooperate with police.
“There were two carloads of kids, two guys that had issues with each other and a fight started,” said Nelson.
Nelson said one of them was getting the better of the other when the loser pulled out a knife. The wounds were serious but were not life threatening.
“He [the victim] was slashed twice and stabbed twice, but he’s refusing to charge the other guy,” said Nelson. “We’ve done all that we can do with it.”

If this were a domestic dispute the guy would have been charged complaint or not. If they know the guy committed the crime, how is this any different? Or do we just wait until he kills someone....
