Reverend Sharon Key will lead a forum, “Spring into Nonviolent Action,” on Sunday, April 12 from 11 a.m.-12 noon at Central Baptist Church. Sharon is a certified Level II Trainer in the philosophy and strategies of nonviolence as developed by Martin Luther King Jr. through The Center for Nonviolence and Peace Studies at the University of Rhode Island. She has trained in churches, police departments, prisons and in Israel and Palestine.

In this forum, she will share:

. how to identify and analyze different forms of conflict

. how to gain the skills necessary to reconcile conflicts without resorting to violence whether it be physical, emotional or verbal

. The Six Principles and Six Steps of Nonviolence as taught and practiced by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

. The practice of nonviolence can build a stronger sense of cooperation and community

The public is invited to take advantage of this special opportunity for learning more on the practice of nonviolence and putting that practice into action. Sharon is also preaching at Central Baptist that day at 9:30 a.m. All are invited for that as well. The church is located in Jamestown at 99 Narragansett Ave. For more information call 423-1651.
