Norma R. (Owen) Zaroogian, 81, of Warwick, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family December 6, 2011. She was the wife of the late Herbert A. Zaroogian.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Arthur J. Owen and Martha C. (Heden) Owen. Mrs. Zaroogian was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She joined the Order of the Eastern Star, Sincerity Chapter in 1980, where she served as matron six times. A member of Greenwood Community Church Presbyterian, she taught Sunday school for three years and volunteered for Meals on Wheels and Kent Nursing Home.

She leaves her nine beloved children, Frank Burlingham and George R. Zaroogian, both of Voluntown, Conn., Thomas T. Zaroogian of Warwick, Timothy R. Zaroogian of North Kingstown, Herbert A. Zaroogian Jr. of West Greenwich, Linda J. Horvath of Cranston, Sandra L. Burgan of California, Nancy N. Zaroogian of East Lake, Ohio and Suzanne E. Zaroogian of North Kingstown. She was the cherished grandmother of 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Her funeral and burial were private.
