Warwick Vets Leadership Academy students paid tribute to Korean War veterans in a ceremony Friday morning outside the school. With veterans of the “forgotten war” and their families looking on, the students read poems, talked of the school that is named in memory of Warwick veterans and raised a flag in the school year. They then visited the school’s entrance corridor to look at items loaned to the school by veterans and a plaque bearing the names of five Warwick veterans who died in the Korean War. The plaque was part of a graduation by proficiency project completed last year by Mason Martino. Those who gave their lives are: Wilfred Coleman Jr., William L. Tilley, Antonio Vittorio, Frederick Prelser and Albert Roberts. Pictured in front of the plaque are Robert Markham, David Hovey and Michael O’Sullivan, all Korean War veterans.
