Posted

The Ocean State Center for Independent Living (OSCIL) will host a lunch and learn workshop Wednesday, Jan. 27 from 12 to 2 p.m. at the OSCIL office at 1944 Warwick Avenue, Warwick.

This month’s workshop is “Talking Books Plus.” Talking Books Plus, the Rhode Island Regional Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped, provides library service free of charge to anyone in Rhode Island who is unable to read standard print material because of a temporary or permanent visual or physical handicap. The program is part of the National Library Service network, which provides free digital books and equipment to eligible residents and agencies.

In addition, the United Way 211 Outreach RV will be at OSCIL to provide information from National Grid and Westbay Heating Assistance among other topics.

This workshop is part of OSCIL’s outreach and community education initiative. OSCIL offers monthly free lunch and learn workshops to highlight various solutions that can increase access in your home and community.

Lunch will be served. Seating is limited; call 738-1013 for reservations. A sign language interpreter and CART have been secured for this event.
