Oliver F. “Ollie” Lemlin, Jr., 89, of Warwick passed away on May 21, 2016 at Brentwood Nursing Home. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth J. (Hobday) Lemlin. They were married on May 17, 1946 at St. Matthew Church in Cranston.

Born in Cranston, he was a son of the late Oliver Lemlin, Sr. and Annie (Ferry) Lemlin. Mr. Lemlin was a Truck Driver for the former M.N. Cartier & Sons for 42 years, retiring in 1988. He also served in The United States Army during World War II. He was an active communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Warwick where he served as a greeter at Sunday Mass for many years, changing to the Saturday at 5 p.m. Mass in the past few years. He was on the first Honor Flight for Veterans from Rhode Island to see the World War II Memorial.

He was the beloved father of Jeanne M. Orr and her husband, Randy of Warwick and Kathy R. White and her husband, Larry of Saint Mary’s, Georgia. The loving grandfather of two; and great-grandfather of four. The caring brother of James Lemlin of Providence and the late Raymond, Thomas, Madeline, Clementine, Helen, Anna and Louise.

His funeral will be held on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. from the Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 3250 Post Road, Warwick. Burial, with military honors, to follow in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter, RI. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.
